Just like Allison Pitt, many Washington University Engineering students develop leadership skills by engaging in undergraduate research and student organizations.
B.S. in Systems Engineering & Chemical Engineering
Today, Allison Pitt is a graduate student. She studies Operations Research and plans to work in supply chain management upon completion of her Master's degree. In the future, she hopes to work as a professor to be able to encourage women and minority students to pursue their academic and professional goals.
At Washington University, Allison was the National Society of Black Engineers President, a John B. Ervin Scholar, and a McKelvey Scholar. As a senior, Allison worked with classmates to build a simulation of an on-campus eatery. "From the collection of data with stopwatch in hand, to watching the computer model that we actually made run like the real system, seeing the product of our work brought a great sense of achievement."
